Beukes van Graan (Beatle)

Affectionately known in the industry as, ‘Beatle’, Beukes cut his experienced teeth at Storm Productions as an in-house production assistant for a period of 3 years. This experience saw him involved in a host of high profile live events from Miss South Africa and MNet Summer Festival to the Rolling Stones World Tour, Bon Jovi and Cliff Richards SA Tour, amongst others. Prior to that Beatle did a camera course and worked as a rigger for MNet’s Outside Broadcasts. Subsequently he spent the forthcoming ten years as a Unit, Locations and Transport manager on a host of features and commercials.

Mick has amassed a wealth of experience in the features movie industry and has worked across the board as base camp, unit, and transport and locations manager on an inspiring number of high profile features. Some of which include, Blood Diamond, Lord of War, Home Alone 4 and Ladies #1 Detective Agency.

Established over 10 years ago, Sitewise is a film production support company specialising in location scouting, unit management and production support equipment rental. To orchestrate a well-organized and stress-free shoot is every production houses’ aspiration, something our experienced and professional unit managers have been doing for years. All our unit managers have a minimum of 5 years film industry experience and their service includes correspondence with the applicable authorities, location owners, neighbours and Cape Film Commission, as well as securing the relevant permissions to film. Many of our Unit Managers are also experienced location scouts and line producers, serving as a further benefit to production houses.

Our production support equipment rental includes:

Sitewise Vehicles
Specialised 8 ton Trucks. Lighting, Make-up, Wardrobe
Long wheel base, high roof Mercedes Benz Sprinters. These are typically employed in the unit role on feature, commercials and stills shoots, but also used by other departments including, lighting, grips, art, etc.
Long wheel base, high roof Toyota Quantum’s. Used in the same fashion as the Sprinters but gets around the issue of having drivers without Code 10/PrDP licenses.
All these vehicles are fitted with satellite tracking systems which provides accurate real-time information.
